Palm Island: Three artificial islands in the shape
of palm trees are being constructed that will contain approximately 500
apartments, 2,000 villas, 25 hotels and 200 luxury shops. With these islands,
one hundred twenty-five kilometers of additional coastline will be created.
The World
The World: Off the coast of Dubai, nearly 300
artificial islands will form a world, visible from space. Acquiring one of
these islands will cost anywhere from 6.2 to 36.7 million USD.
Dubai Waterfront
Dubai Waterfront: Jutting into the waters of the Gulf,
the Dubai Waterfront project will contain ten districts, capable of housing 1.5
million people. The Waterfront will be developed on an 81 million square meter
beachfront and will include a 75 kilometer Arabian Canal, a marina, harbour and
tower buildings.
Old Town
Old Town: The final district of the building
site located at the foot of the Burj Dubai tower. This spectacular complex will
contain the highest tower in the world (the Burj Dubai), the greatest shopping
centre in the world as well as a gigantic residential district.
Hydropolis
Hyrdopolis: Assembled entirely in Germany, this
underwater hotel is being immersed off the coast of Dubai. It will have 220
suites and will consist of three sections: the “land station” where visitors
will be greeted, the 1700 foot tunnel, which will carry hotel guests to their
ultimate station, the hotel itself.
Burj Dubai
Burj Dubai: This phenomenal tower on which
construction began last January and will be complete in 2008, will reach 800
meters in height. The building itself is built in three parts around a central
column, peaking in a spiral and will be 160 stories high.
Madinat Al Arab
Madinat Al Arab: Madinat Al Arab, the focal point and
downtown area of Dubai Waterfront will be anchored by Al Burj, one of the
tallest buildings in the world and will feature resorts, retail, commercial
spaces, public spaces, a mix of residencies and an integrated transport network
including light rail and a sophisticated road network.
Dubai Sports City
Dubai Sports City: This immense sporting complex built on
7.5 km² will accommodate sports such as: cricket, golf, rugby, football, track
and indoor sports including tennis, handball and volleyball. Hotels, residences
and villas are also planned for the Sports City.
Dubai Marina
Dubai Marina: Created to be an awe-inspiring city
within a city; costing 10 billion dollars to construct Dubai Marina will be built on an artificial
11km boardwalk, covering a total area of more than 50 million square feet,
housing luxury residential and leisure facilities including three main towers
to be named after arab perfumes.
Dubai Ski Dome
Dubailand Ski Dome: This indoor ski resort will contain a
rotating ski slope, mountain run, training area, snowboarding area etc (with
6,000 tonnes of real snow). There will also be 4-season aquaria, snow castle,
ice rink, cold and hot spas and an iceberg-shaped five star hotel, among other
luxuries.
Space Science World
Space Science World: Space is one of the subjects explored
in this immense theme park, with areas including: attractions and experience
world, sports and outdoor world, eco-tourism world, themed leisure and vacation
world, retail and entertainment world and downtown.
Golden Dome
Golden Dome: Standing an impressive 455 meters
high, with 2.2 million m² of total surface area, this will be one of the
largest buildings in the world in terms of surface area and height. It will
contain 500,000 m² in commercial space and 50,000 m² in convention centres and
arenas.
