Dubai Lifestyle City (DLC), a Dh2.5 billion unique lifestyle project,
is all set to award a Dh60 million contract for the infrastructure
development of the project in the coming weeks, a top company official
said. "We have shortlisted four Dubai-based contractors currently and
will finalise one of them for the next stage of development of our
project," Mashook Seyed, executive director, DLC, told The Business
Weekly.
Located in Dubailand, the major development that is all about themed
clusters, DLC is developing the project in collaboration with
international partners like JW Marriott, IMG Sports Academies,
Microsoft and Cisco to facilitate the emergence of a multicultural
community on a 95-acre stretch of land.
The developer, which has received a good response for the project and
has sold out nearly 50 per cent of the project, recently acquired the
Madagascar Island in the upcoming The World project.
"We plan to have an extension of DLC there and will link the members
club of the Lifestyle City in the new project at The World, so that
residents can also get an opportunity to go the island and spend a day
or two there," Seyed said.
DLC is the first JW Marriott-branded residential property worldwide and
the presence of JW Marriott will provide the project high standards in
operations and services. "It will give the project an exquisite
environment, approachable elegance and attentive service," he added.
Branded villas
As part of the agreement, all the
villas and 'villettes' will be branded as JW Marriott Residences and
the hospitality giant will take care of the full gamut of the
housekeeping operations for residents who choose its services.
Besides, JW Marriott will run three separate, yet integrated, lodging
facilities to cater to the requirements of the visitors to the city.
The 170-room JW Marriott Hotel, the 152-room Courtyard by Marriott and
the 46-unit Marriott Executive Apartments, will cater to the needs of
the visitors to DLC.
Seyed said that the various facilities within city will be digitally
connected. "We have signed an agreement with Microsoft and Cisco to
implement a concept of e-living - electronic living or easy living," he
added.
